Fernando Pairican is a historian and Ph.D. is History at the University of Santiago. He is also an academic of this same academic institution and also directs the collection of contemporary Mapuche thought of Pehuén editors. He is the author of the book Malón and the biography of Matías Catrileo. His areas of interests are the history of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, focused on the Mapuche people and their relationship with the Chilean state.
