Social anthropologist. Director of the Institute of Indigenous Studies (IEI) of the Universidad de la Frontera. Her research has focused on issues of identity, ethnicity, anthropology of education, Mapuche people and empowerment. Furthermore, she has developed research on cultural practices such as textiles and Mapuche singing.
